New Partners and Exhibits Added to the Louisiana Purchase Bicentennial Plans
August 28, 2002

The Louisiana Purchase Bicentennial Commemoration is pleased to announce the Arkansas Press Association and Arkansas Community Foundation as new partnering agencies. The Arkansas Press Association has designed educational supplements to complement Department of Arkansas Heritage's curriculum. The Arkansas Community Foundation has agreed to be the groups 501-c3 agency.

The communities of Marianna and Harrison have been added as partnering cities. Marianna is involved in the Delta Coalition and is planning exhibits, living history performances, and other activities. Harrison is planning to celebrate the commemoration in conjunction with their annual Crawdad Days.
The St. Francis National Forest has been added as a federal partner and Toltec Mounds, Arkansas Post State Museum, Parkin Archeological Site, and Old Independence Regional Museum have all added Louisiana Purchase programs and exhibits to their calendars.

The Louisiana Purchase Bicentennial Committee of Arkansas is excited to have these wonderful organizations and sites participate in the commemoration.
