Louisiana Purchase Programs at Arkansas State Parks
March 26, 2002

Imagine a place where you can experience the sights and sounds of early 19th century Arkansas, much like the surveyors of the Louisiana Purchase Territory encountered. Think this place could not have survived modernization? Think again - the Louisiana Purchase Historic State Park is a National Historical Landmark that preserves the environment and the initial point of the Louisiana Purchase. Experience this environment for yourself and learn about Arkansas's role in Purchase history at programs at the state park site from March - November, 2003. Programs twice a month at the site will feature presentations relating to this almost forgotten place in Arkansas history.

Programming at the other 51 state park sites will take place all year during 2003. For more information about these park programs, contact Jay Miller, Program Coordinator for Arkansas State Parks, at 501) 682-7777.
