Entergy Supports Louisiana Purchase Bicentennial
March 8, 2002

The Entergy Charitable Foundation has contributed $5,000 to the Louisiana Purchase Bicentennial in Arkansas.

Hugh McDonald, chief executive officer of Entergy, notified Arkansas Secretary of State Sharon Priest of the contribution.

"Everyone in Arkansas who is planning bicentennial activities appreciates Entergy's support," Priest said. Priest will use the funds to offset costs of the bicentennial commemoration in 2003.

The foundation is a non-profit foundation of Entergy Corporation. Grants are awarded to non-profit programs and agencies throughout the communities where Entergy serves customers or maintains other operations. The foundation focuses primarily on low-income initiatives and education.
