Arkansas Humanities Council Awards Grant for Video

Januuary 22, 2002 - A $24,937 grant from the Arkansas Humanities Council was given to the Secretary of State's office to offset production costs of a video documentary, It Started Here: Early Arkansas and the Louisiana Purchase. AETN will serve as the production company of the video and it will debut in spring, 2003.

The video tells the story of Arkansas's role in the Louisiana Purchase from the perspective of the places in Arkansas that have a connection to the Purchase, including Arkansas Post National Historic Site, Louisiana Purchase Historic State Park and Fort Smith National Historic Site.

The Arkansas Humanities Council purpose is to promote understanding, appreciation and use of the humanities in Arkansas.
