Parsons Dance Company with the Ahn Trio to Visit Texarkana
for a One Night Only Performance
The David Parsons Dance Company with the award-winning
Ahn Trio (piano, violin, cello) coming to Texarkana's
historic Perot Theatre on Friday, January 31 at 7:30pm.
Their featured dance piece for the evening is a collaboration
of the two groups on a major new work celebrating the
Bicentennial, commissioned by the Performing Arts Society
of Acadiana, the Louisiana Performer's Network and the
Louisiana Arts Commission. It was created/choreographed
by David Parsons with original music written specifically
for the Ahn Trio by American composer Kenji Bunch. Only
two performances of the piece are scheduled in a four
state area: the premier in Lafayette and the second
in Texarkana. (David Parsons will make a special appearance
in Texarkana to introduce his new work - a rare treat
since he does not accompany the troupe!) The remainder
of the evening will be just as exciting. The Ahns will
accompany the dancers on several other selections; and
both groups will have segments to showcase their individual
talents. Do not miss this unique opportunity to see
incredibly innovative works by two world-class ensembles
- together for the first time!
Tickets are $5, $20, $27, $32, and $37 with group and
half-price ($10.00) student tickets available. Groups
are:
10-19 persons - $1.00 off each ticket
20 or more persons - $2.00 off each ticket.

may be taken for groups (i.e. Schools, dance studios,
banks, other businesses, or anyone with a recognized
purchase order system).
