The
Arkansas River played an important role in the development
of our country and now plays an important role in our
community. The entire family can enjoy a day of fun
and education as we explore the development of water
transportation along the Arkansas River from wooden
canoes to commercial barges. During the workshop each
participant will build a wooden model canoe to take
home. The event is open to the public and there is a
fee of $5 per person. Please bring a picnic lunch with
you and we will eat in the park. The program will run
from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The facilities, programs and
services are accessible to people with disabilities.
