Floating Through History on the Arkansas River -
Lake Dardanelle State Park

May 3, 2003

Lake Dardanelle State Park
2428 Marina Road
Russellville, AR 72802
Pope County

The Arkansas River played an important role in the development of our country and now plays an important role in our community. The entire family can enjoy a day of fun and education as we explore the development of water transportation along the Arkansas River from wooden canoes to commercial barges. During the workshop each participant will build a wooden model canoe to take home. The event is open to the public and there is a fee of $5 per person. Please bring a picnic lunch with you and we will eat in the park. The program will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The facilities, programs and services are accessible to people with disabilities.
